Spectrum Proposal to Increase Tuscaloosa County Web Entry

Greater than 1,000 houses and small companies in Tuscaloosa County may have entry to gigabit high-speed Web if a proposal for spectrum is accomplished.

The corporate introduced its proposal for a $6 million grant from Alabama’s Broadband Accessibility Fund Grant Program on Friday, July 1.

Tuscaloosa County residents will obtain $2 million from Spectrum, if granted, with $4.2 million from the state.

In a press release Friday, Spectrum’s director of presidency affairs, Taylor Sensible, defined, “Public-private partnerships are an necessary technique for connecting underserved communities. Via Alabama’s Broadband Accessibility Fund Grant Program, Spectrum helps 1000’s of households and small companies alike. Will tie up with the state to deliver extra gigabit broadband for.

Based on the US Census Bureau, 82.2% of all households within the county had an Web subscription in 2020.
